The question is, do these treatments work?
Unfortunately as with anything regarding acne, they may and they may not. It will depend on your situation. The beauty of using homemade acne treatments is that they are inexpensive, readily available, and offer little to no side effects.
Below are some of the treatment products you may want to try before spending a bunch of money on more expensive products. Personally these never worked for me, but since everyone is different, they are always worth a shot.
Keep in mind these are just a few ways you can treat your acne more naturally:
Vitamin E Oil:
Vitamin E has always been recommended for acne and the oil tends to be a great treatment for any future scarring. The downside to using Vitamin E oil is that if it works at all, it takes quite a bit of time. Perhaps combining it with other acne products mentioned would be the way to go.
Tea Tree Oil:
Tea tree oil is a very effective treatment. Many times you will find this one ingredient in many of the acne products on the market today. It does a wonderful job reducing swelling, fighting bacteria, and making your irritated skin feel better.
Omega 3 Oils & Other Nutritional Products:
Treating acne from the inside out is how many of the more powerful acne treatment products work. Utilizing good nutrition, including omega 3′s, is not only good for your health but also for fighting acne.
Also, an excellent source of antioxidants, these oils provide valuable health benefits and works by helping your body release less oils that tend to cause acne breakouts. Along with omega 3 oils you should consider various vitamins and minerals to help keep your skin clear and feeling great.
Flushing Your System:
Once a year you should consider a good cleansing of your system. This is another inside out treatment and can work wonders for your body and skin. There are many methods of doing this, so be sure to read all instructions and do your homework before shocking the body in this manner.
Clean Water Works Wonders:
People think I’m crazy when I state that we use a water filter in our shower. When I added this to my skincare regimen, my acne cleared up quite nicely. Consider looking into a product that helps clean the water throughout your home.
Other Great Acne Fighting Tips:
Drink lots of water, eat healthier foods and include lots of fruits, utilize products that are suited for your skin type, try and not pick at your blemishes, and get yourself on a good acne program. There are many choices and ways to treat acne today, so it is not a lost cause.
If you decide to go with more homemade acne treatments, then be sure to understand what’s out there and if perhaps you need another method for your specific situation. As said these can work, but will vary per acne sufferer.

Best Acne Treatments – 4 Ways to Get Rid of Acne

Most people suffering from acne will probably agree that it is a very embarrassing and troublesome condition. What makes it worse is that acne appears on the face, making it almost impossible to conceal.
While there seems to be a ton of solutions for the treatment of acne, unfortunately, not all acne treatments will work for everyone. Therefore, there are really no such things as the best acne treatments.
Certain treatments will work very well for some people, while totally ineffective for others. In fact, a person can try out many different types of treatment before he or she finds a treatment that is effective.
One of the reasons why this is so is because acne is a rather complicated condition that is not totally understood. The cause of acne can be very different from one person to the other. Furthermore, there are also many different types of acne. That is the reason why there are so many acne treatments available.
Below, we will briefly discuss some ways of treating acne. A point to note is that the effectiveness of those treatments varies from person to person.
1) A change in diet and skin care routine
For some people, this can be a very effective way in controlling or eliminating their acne. A healthy, balanced diet increases the well being of a person, strengthening the immune system. This may in turn result in a healthier skin.
Generally, the face should be washed two times daily using a mild cleaning agent for the face. Do note that it is usually not a good idea to wash your face too many times in a day. Doing so can make the situation worse, resulting in irritation and even more breakout.
Unless you are specifically told to do so by a qualified professional, or have a specific reason, do not wash your face too often.
2) Using non-prescription medications
Common examples of non prescription medications include pads, strips, astringents or creams. These medications can be very effective for mild to moderate acne. Do note that it is very important to observe any possible side effects after using them.
For example, some acne creams or astringents can make the skin so dry, it is as if trading one condition for the other. If this occurs, it is best to stop using them immediately.
3) Using prescription medications
Prescription medications are usually for moderate to more severe case of acnes. If your acne condition is relative mild, e.g. having one pimples or two, then you may not need them.
4) Wait
Sometimes, waiting may be a good option. For some people, the acne will simply disappear over time. This may work for people with mild cases of acne. However, if you are having a very severe case of acne break out, it is best to seek proper treatment as soon as possible. You may want to consider consulting a doctor if the condition is too serious.

Acne Treatment Is A Priority Among Americans

Some common over the counter acne medications include the following active ingredients: Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Sulfur, and Resorcinol. While you may try one and find it ineffective it is best to try all of the active ingredients before ruling them out all together as effective treatments for your acne problems. If you have tried all of these and found that nothing effectively treats and prevents your acne problems, it is time to see a doctor and find out what he might have in store for you.
Once you’ve seen a doctor, you might be surprised to find that his first course of action will often to be to try another topical treatment rather than resorting first to harsh chemicals or drugs. Oral contraceptives and antibiotics taken orally are also common and often effective treatments for acne. Occasionally there’s an acne problem that goes beyond traditionally prescribed acne treatments and will require harsher medications that carry with them significant risks in order to treat. This type of treatment should be a last ditch effort and reserved only for the most severe acne cases.
The name of this severe but highly effective acne treatment is Accutane (the brand name). This drug has the potential for very serious side effects to all who take it with the riskiest side effects being to those who may become pregnant. There are extreme measures taken in order to avoid pregnancy while taking this drug and women of childbearing capabilities are carefully monitored during the entire duration of their treatment with this medication and for a brief period of time after the treatment ends. Beyond the risks of sever birth defects to unborn babies, the health risks to otherwise healthy adults can be quite severe. This is a treatment that should only be entered into by someone who has been adequately informed of all the risks associated with this treatment and will be closely monitored throughout the process. The one resounding benefit of this drug is that it has been known in many cases to completely cure even acute cases of acne. This is not a drug that will fix all acne problems and as I mentioned it carries with it high risks, but it is by far one of, if not the most successful acne treatments on the market today.
Whether your acne problem is mild to moderate or severe and potentially disfiguring, there are many treatment options available. It is very important that you find the acne treatment that not only works best for you but fits within your lifestyle. No treatment will be effective if it sits unused in your medicine cabinet.
